Terwillegar Riverbend Soccer Association(TRSA) soccer programs operate at the community level and accept all players that register following our policies and procedures. As a community program, we do not have tryouts. Our senior teams play in leagues organized by the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association. Players wishing to play at the premier level are directed to try out for Southwest Sting FC(SWSFC) which is the premier program offered by the Southwest Edmonton Minor Soccer Association(SWEMSA).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the soccer season offered is dynamically modified to comply with public health measures mandated by the local, provincial and possibly federal health authorities. For updates on the current public health mandates, please visit the following links:
Outdoor Soccer Program
The outdoor soccer season typically runs from the first week in May to the last week in June, weather dependent. For U9-U19, the postseason play could continue into mid-July. We usually have approximately 160 outdoor teams. Each team typically has 2-3 coaches and a team manager.
TRSA Mini Soccer Program U4-U7: TRSA offers a Mini Soccer Program which is organized solely by TRSA. The program takes place on mini fields on local green spaces within our communities. Teams are typically formed with players only from TRSA. This is a great program to meet soccer families in our communities.
Senior Soccer Program U9-U19: Players in U9-U19 participate in a soccer league organized by the Southwest Edmonton Minor Soccer Association(SWEMSA) and the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association(EMSA). TRSA players in these age groups have the opportunity to play against teams from other communities within the southwest zone. If teams qualify, they have a chance to compete postseason in the EMSA City Finals and possibly Provincials or Intercities depending on age group and tier level. The program offers two scheduled games a week, and teams are free to schedule their own practices. The City of Edmonton allows TRSA to schedule and play games on the fields that we are licensed to use. Teams can practice on any unused field in the area and we do not schedule practices. Practices are arranged by the coaches.
Outdoor Equipment: TRSA provides an equipment bag that includes age-appropriate soccer balls(size 3-5), an air pump, cones, pinnies, coach's clipboard and a first aid kit to each team.
Mini Soccer Program U4-U7 teams will also be provided with pop up nets.
Senior Soccer Program U9-U19 teams will also be provided with a goalkeeper jersey and gloves. a net, and 3 flags.
Outdoor Referees: TRSA pays for and books referees for U11 and U13 HOME games, and also for assistant referees for U15-U19 HOME games.
No Dogs Allowed: Please do not bring dogs to the games or practices. City bylaws prohibit dogs from being on sports fields and school grounds at any time and is subject to a fine.
